In June, Tesla CEO, Elon Musk tweeted that he had sold all his properties to live in a 37 square meter house rented from SpaceX, However, this small house which is worth $50,000 is not simple.

Some time ago, the media exposed that this small house is the latest "product" launched by Boxabl company in Las Vegas, which is good at "building houses in factories". It is said that before this news, 40,000 people had been lining up for reservations, of which 2,000 customers paid the deposit.

This product has a professional term in architecture, which is called prefabricated houses, also known as prefabricated buildings.

In terms of "buildings" in the general sense, they need to be built, decorated, and configured on the land before they can be occupied by people.

However, prefabricated buildings have completed all these pre-work in the factory—even the water and electricity lines and pipes are made in advance. After folding them, the house would be transported to the destination, and then it would be assembled and connected to the pipeline. After this, it would finally become a modern residence with fine decoration, complete household appliances which can be moved in immediately.

In the official promotional video, the packed prefabricated house was transported by a Tesla.

After making some improvements to the prefabricated house of about 50,000 dollars, Musk said confidently: "I’m pretty sure it’s worth 69,000 dollars."
